Ozge Savascin Oundee

Ozge is an economist on the Foundational Research Team in Fannie Mae’s Economic and Strategic Research Group. Her research focuses on mortgages, mortgage applications, borrower liquid reserves, and homeowner mobility. Her responsibilities include supporting Fannie Mae’s housing affordability and mission-related work using internal and external datasets such as the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).

Ozge joined Fannie Mae in 2012 and has worked across several teams in the past decade, mainly focusing on access to credit. Her prior responsibilities include managing a team of economists focused on the housing goals forecast, Fannie Mae’s acquisition profile forecast, and the capital forecast based on the Enterprise Regulatory Capital Framework.

Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Ozge was a dissertation summer intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. During her graduate studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she taught intermediate microeconomics and was a teaching assistant for a graduate macroeconomics course. Ozge was awarded as the best teaching assistant for a graduate course in 2011.

Ozge has two B.S. degrees in economics: one from the London School of Economics (external program) and one from Istanbul Bilgi University. She also has an M.S. and a Ph.D. in economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
