Nathaniel Decker

Nathaniel (Nat) Decker is an economist on the Multifamily Market Research Team in Fannie Mae’s Economic and Strategic Research Group. In this role, he focuses on rental markets in the U.S. and has produced work on low-cost market rate housing, single-family rentals, and the owners and management of small and mid-sized rental properties. He joined Fannie Mae in 2022.

Prior to Fannie Mae, Nat worked at the Terner Center for Housing Innovation at The University of California, Berkeley and at Forsyth Street, an advisory and asset management firm based in New York City focused on affordable housing, real estate, and municipal and impact investment.

Nat has a B.A. from Oberlin College, an M.R.P. from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in urban planning from The University of California, Berkeley.
