"We feel for the community impacted by the unfolding issues related to Flint, Michigan area water quality. We are working to monitor the situation and the impact it may ultimately have on Fannie Mae borrowers. The facts and plans for remediation efforts are still evolving – we stand ready to address the mortgage needs of the community as we learn more. We believe our current policies appropriately address the situation as we now understand it. As we learn more and as this situation evolves, we will work with lenders to determine what policy changes, if any, may be warranted."
