Danielle M. McCoy
Danielle M. McCoy is Fannie Mae’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary, providing leadership of the Legal organization. She reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and serves as a member of the Management Committee.
Prior to her current position, Ms. McCoy was Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Deputy Corporate Secretary, responsible for overseeing corporate governance, fair lending, corporate transactions, data, technology, privacy, and cybersecurity legal matters. Previously, Ms. McCoy was Fannie Mae’s Vice President and Fair Lending Officer. In that role, she revamped and led Fannie Mae’s enterprise-wide fair lending program and managed employees responsible for fair lending compliance, legal analysis, and analytics activities. Ms. McCoy also served previously as Fannie Mae’s Managing Director, Deputy General Counsel, and Assistant Corporate Secretary. She was instrumental in the implementation of Fannie Mae’s corporate governance structure after Fannie Mae’s conservatorship and managed a team supporting corporate secretary and governance operations. Additionally, Ms. McCoy coordinated annual shareholder meetings, managed shareholder proposals, and supported shareholder outreach on governance matters prior to Fannie Mae’s conservatorship.
Before joining Fannie Mae in 2006, Ms. McCoy provided securities, transactional, and corporate governance counsel as an Associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.
Ms. McCoy has a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law.
