Scott D. Stowell
Mr. Stowell has nearly 40 years of experience in the U.S. homebuilding industry, including single-family homes, mixed-use communities, and projects meeting local governments’ affordability requirements. He is the Founder, CEO, and President of Capital Thirteen LLC, an advisory, real estate investment, and angel investing company. Mr. Stowell currently sits on the Board of Directors at Toll Brothers, Inc., Pacific Mutual Holding Company, and HomeAid America, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education. Mr. Stowell held various roles at Standard Pacific Corp. from 1986 to 2015, including as Chief Operating Officer from 2007 to 2011, President from 2011 to 2015, and Chief Executive Officer from 2012 to 2015. Following the merger of Standard Pacific Corp. with The Ryland Group, Inc. in 2015 to form CalAtlantic Group, Inc., Mr. Stowell served as the Executive Chairman of CalAtlantic Group, Inc. Later, in 2018 following the merger of CalAtlantic Group, Inc. with Lennar Corporation, Mr. Stowell served on the Board of Directors of Lennar Corporation until 2021.
Mr. Stowell has been a Fannie Mae Director since November 2024. Beginning December 1, 2024, he will serve on the Community Responsibility and Sustainability Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
